Rabbi Elbaz was born and raised in Queens, NY. After graduating from the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, he advanced his Torah studies in Bet Midrash Yehave Da’at / Kollel Aram Soba in Jerusalem, where he received semicha (ordination) in both Rabbanut and Dayanut. Upon returning to the United States, Rabbi Elbaz assumed the mantle of rabbinic leadership at Congregation Yeshiva Ohel Simcha in Queens. He serves as Maggid Shiur and Sephardic Director at Lander College for Men. In addition, Rabbi Elbaz heads the English division of Halacha Yomit, an esteemed global platform dedicated to spreading the teachings of Maran Rabbeinu Ovadia Yosef zt”l to the Jewish masses. He also serves as a Posek and halachic guide for several communities around the world.
During the Yamim Noraim season, he can often be found surrounded by great Hachamim and lay people from around the country make the annual pilgrimage to his Mehardin Esrog Center, where he sells the finest Arba Minim of the highest caliber. Before Pesach, he imports mehadrin soft matzah, and, for the rest of the year, he serves as a reliable source for reputable STAM straight from the source, specializing in Gevil and ancient scripts.
